We offer you brine cured and smoked bacon to delight your taste buds.
We raise pigs outdoors on our farm in Yangan. The rural village of Yangan is nestled on Swan Creek, east of Warwick, on the southern Darling Downs. We consign the pigs to Yangan abattoir for slaughter, most importantly, with emphasis on humane handling. We then consign the slaughtered pigs for curing and smoking on the Southern Downs and, sometimes, on the Scenic Rim. Therefore, we limit food miles, subject to your location.
Delivery
We will deliver the traditionally brine cured and smoked bacon to you in Warwick, Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, Allora, Clifton, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Goondiwindi, Moree, Dubbo or Sydney when it’s ready (in mid-October 2018). We will provide you with an estimated time of arrival on the day that we will deliver to you. Otherwise, you may collect directly from the farm, by arrangement. Besides that, we may also deliver your traditionally cured and smoked bacon in other areas, including the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, North, Mid-North and Central Coast of New South Wales, Armidale and Tamworth and all locations between Brisbane and Sydney, by arrangement.
Animal Welfare
We treat animal welfare as our paramount consideration when rearing the pigs and when we consign them for slaughter. We ensure that our pigs have the freedom to roam, dig, mate and play therefore reducing stress, injuries and abnormal behaviours that can result from living in confinement with limited stimulation. Our pigs are not locked in stalls or farrowing crates. The pigs live on the land, they’re free to make their own nests for farrowing and they have shelters that they can shelter in from the elements.
